A K-12 school system contacted the MidChes team with a unique challenge to fit eight security call center operators into one unique room. The operators in the call center are responsible for incoming calls, security alarm reporting, and video verification of alarms.
As is often the case, the room size and shape is a challenge. Aside from fitting eight operators into a room of unique shape and size. To complete the design, the MidChes team, led by Joe Barnhart and Katie McEvoy, worked with the school system and Winsted designers to create a semi-custom solution based on Winsted's Insight console series.
Joe met with the school system's stakeholders onsite to get a clear understanding of what was in place currently versus what they wanted to accomplish with a new layout and design.
Solution
One section of the room couldn't fit a standard size console base, so a custom size was designed by Winsted's Custom Division. The remainder of the console bases for the project consist of standard size Insight series bases featuring Comfort Edge work surfaces. Lastly, the project requires one of the operators to be able to access a visitor reception window.
