With more than 85 slopes totalling more than 300 km, Davos Klosters is one of the largest alpine ski resorts. Since December 2014, snow sports enthusiasts have the convenience of a new, ultra-modern cable car that will take them from the centre of Davos right to the Ischalp mountain station. The new cable car shuttle service has given guest convenience a massive boost and doubled the transport capacity.
As a result, the Jakobshorn, which is known for its varied regional cuisine and its ideal conditions for free-stylers, is now even more convenient to reach. “Jatz Park” is a veritable paradise for the extra adventurous, offering more than 20 features, from kickers and rails to a super-pipe at the foot of the Jakobshorn. The new cable car service offers optimised infrastructures to ensure a fast visitor flow and smooth transport procedures. At the same time, the transport capacity was almost doubled from 770 to 1220 persons per hour. The new cable cars provide room for 100 extra passengers while offering a significantly higher level of convenience.
To be able to cope with the increase in guest volumes, the operators required an access, communication and announcement system to provide a full overview and central control of the processes and activities throughout the resort. As an essential requirement, the solution was to reduce the load on the existing radio communication network.
