New to IP video? Have a big IP video project on the horizon? Professional services may be the answer.

Professional_services_-_one_on_oneAs IP video security projects become the norm, structured cable and other IT-centric companies are entering the security market. Likewise, those entrenched in the security market are now seeing larger and larger IP video projects.  Both of these situations may demand some level of professional services support.

Several years ago Chesapeake and Midlantic Marketing realized that as the security market converged with IT, field support of our integration partners would be required.

For those entering the business, we have staff dedicated to assisting the integration partner with commissioning of the IP video system. This typically follows the integrator's installers having successfully completed manufacturer training.  Our team is then available to sit along side the installer to help with programming the entire system from cameras to storage. This most often occurs before taking the equipment to the installation site, however can be done on the bench or at the job site depending on the installation plan and logistics.

This support mechanism allows installers to learn on the job following technical training.  It also allows the management of companies to enter the market knowing that they have the local support necessary to be successful in a new or complex deployment.

For companies already entrenched in IP video security solutions, sometimes the project is quite large and has an immediate installation deadline. for these situations, our team is available to supplement the integration staff to get the job done expeditiously.

For example, in August we had the opportunity to assist an integrator with the move of a command center for a large campus from one part of a building to another.  The move involved relocation of the custom Winsted command console, supervisor desk, 17 iSCSI storage arrays, Bosch VMS servers, 22 16-channel VIPX1600 video encoders, and all associated wiring.

We deployed seven of our staff to the site to assist the integrator team of four personnel plus the general contractor team on Thursday and left on Friday night just before midnight with only a four hour break on Friday at 4am. Deployment of our staff allowed not only for additional manpower, but also provided the integrator with high level technical services onsite for the entirety of the move should any problems arise.
