New England received a significant amount of snow this year. As a result, security professionals in New England likely had an increase in nuisance alarms associated with legacy video analytics deployed on their surveillance systems.

Bosch Intelligent Video analytics recognizes environmental conditions such as falling snow, swaying trees, fluttering flags, heavy rain, etc. and considers those conditions "normal" for the scene. Meanwhile, still searching for abnormal behaviors such as moving cars, pedestrians, or bicyclists coming or going.

Our colleague, Mike Guarino from Bosch in the New England region, recognizes the real-life challenges his partners face and took a few minutes to capture a scene with snow, wind, and moving vehicles to show how Bosch video analytics algorithms ignore expected environmental conditions, thus eliminating potential nuisance alarms.

Bosch's advanced in-camera analytics technology keeps staff attention on what's important, ignoring unnecessary notifications.

The growing demand for more detail and the increasing number of network cameras has consequences. Skyrocketing amounts of data need to be viewed when looking for evidence or monitoring live. Bosch video analytics at the edge helps keep data manageable.

It adds metadata to add sense and structure to your video footage at the point of capture. This enables you to stream only what’s relevant, retrieve evidence quickly and simply, and trigger alarms when needed. This eliminates the need to process hours of video data, making it easier to manage than ever before.

To tailor your solution to your exact needs, Bosch offers two different types of video analytics: Essential Video Analytics and Intelligent Video Analytics. Learn more in the video below.
