In a significant update for users of Bosch security systems, the Bosch GV4 series panels, including the D7212GV4, D7412GV4, and D9412GV4 models, will reach the end of their support lifecycle on December 31st, 2024. These panels, introduced in 2011 and discontinued in 2019, will no longer receive technical support after this date.
With the support deadline approaching, it's crucial for users to transition to the new G series panels to ensure continued security and functionality. The D7212GV4 and D7412GV4 panels are superseded by the B8512G, while the D9412GV4 is replaced by the B9512G. Fortunately, most keypads and modules compatible with the GV4 series remain compatible with the new G series, simplifying the upgrade process. Keypads can connect directly to the new panels, and most modules can be integrated using the B600 ZONEX retrofit module.
However, it is important to note that ZONEX type modules compatible with the GV4 series, such as the D8128D, D8129, D8125, D8125MUX, and the ENKIT-01, have been discontinued and are no longer available for purchase. If any of these modules fail, they must be replaced with an equivalent SDI2 based module. Due to compatibility issues, a single module failure could render an older system inoperative.
In light of these changes, proactive planning is essential. Users are advised to upgrade their oldest panels and be prepared to replace panels as necessary. By the end of the year, technical support and spare parts for older generation panels will no longer be available.
