According to an IPVM survey, the #1 barrier to using video analytics is cost.

Bosch has eliminated the barrier by providing on-board video analytics in new IP cameras at no additional charge.

Applications for smart IP cameras, now often referred to as sensors or detectors,  with on-board video analytics that save time and money for security, merchandisers, store operators, traffic agencies, and city managers include:

  • Illegally parked vehicles
  • Checkout line wait notification
  • Loitering in front of an ATM
  • Crossing a perimeter fence
  • Retail traffic heat maps
  • Early fire and smoke detection
  • Loud noise or gunshot detection
  • Disabled vehicle on highway shoulder

Essential Video Analytics by Bosch is deployed when you need reliable indoor video analytics for small and medium business, large retail stores, commercial buildings, and warehouses. Essential Video Analytics is free-of-charge and available on all new CPP7 based 4000 - 6000 series IP cameras from Bosch. The software system reliably detects, tracks, and analyzes moving objects while suppressing unwanted alarms from spurious sources in the image. Advanced tasks like multiple line crossing, loitering, crowd density estimation, and people counting are available. Object filter based on size, speed, direction, aspect ratio, and color can be defined. The software automatically distinguishes between the object types upright person, car, bike, and truck. It allows you to record all of the object information and change the rules even after the fact for fully configurable forensic search. More information

Intelligent Video Analytics by Bosch is specified when you need mission critical, long-distance intrusion detection in extreme weather conditions or other high-performance video analytics. It is available on new CPP4, CPP6, and CPP7 based Bosch IP cameras, provided these cameras have an additional dedicated hardware unit (FPGA) for computing video analytics. Intelligent Video Analytics reliably detects, tracks, and analyzes moving objects while suppressing unwanted alarms in the image. Advanced tasks like multiple line crossing, loitering, crowd density estimation, and people counting are standard. Object filter based on size, speed, direction, aspect ratio, and color can be defined. The software automatically distinguishes between the object types upright person, car, bike, and truck. And with version 6.30, the detection of objects at double the distance to target is now available. It allows you to record all of the object information and change the rules even after the fact for fully configurable forensic search. More information
