Day 2 on the GSX 2018 expo floor started with interview with Ed Pederson, Vice President of Integrator and Distribution Sales at Bosch Security Systems, and Nick Hoyt before the show floor opened. The interviews ran well into the afternoon and continued to outline clear value propositions from our partners. We had very informative discussions with leaders, managers, and product specialists from our line-up of manufacturers. Below are videos of the great security solution conversations we had.

Nick and Ed, discussed security integrator challenges and the solutions highlighted at GSX 2018 that help them increase efficiency and profitability.

Steve Pennington provided us with a 360 degree tour of the Bosch Security Systems exhibit, showcasing solutions from video surveillance to motion detectors, to intelligent video analytics.

With integration as a prominent topic for security integrator and end users alike, Southwest Microwave provided us with an opportunity to not only hear what's new in perimeter detection technologies, and also to see how an alarm occurs in Genetec as well as a guided demonstration of the integration at the Milestone exhibit.

Zareh Megerdoonian, SafeCities and Intelligent Transportation Systems specialist at Bosch Security Systems, explained how important video analytics are to non-security applications.

Brian Cote from EIZO showed Tom some new versions of their IP Monitor Decoder and also mentioned integration to Genetec's VMS.

GSX 2018 Expo Floor Day 1
Day 1 at GSX was a huge success. Most manufacturers stated they seemed busier than they thought they'd be. We hit the isles to see what challenges security professionals are facing and the solutions that are available.

Brad Anderson from Commend Intercom and Public Address gave Nick a demonstration and discussed how voice communication is becoming a greater part of active assailant response protocols.

Tom talked to Chris Costa, a longtime network communications expert from Comnet Communication Networks. They discussed how solutions have evolved over the years.

Jeff Fields from Bosch Security Systems explained to Nick how he assists security end users in various critical infrastructure sectors solve their unique challenges.

Nick was able to see the latest in command center furniture solutions from Rich McPherson from Winsted. Sit-stand options continue to increase in popularity.

Controlling access to buildings beyond the lobby is increasingly important as visitors to commercial buildings and campuses require additional vetting, while authorized employees need easy entry to start the workday. Mike Johnson from Orion Entrance Control gave Tom a peek at some new solutions, particularly DoorGuard.

Sean Murphy from Bosch Security Systems took a moment to discuss how he strives to assist critical infrastructure end users with unique and creative ways to solve their security challenges.

Expo Eve

Pre-Expo day got off to a great start. Our team had meetings scheduled, ran into several industry veterans, and took a sneak peek behind the closed doors as manufacturers were putting the finishing touches on their booth displays. Check out our interviews below...

Tom ran into a few long-time industry friends. Rick Leighton of SecureVizual explained to Tom why attending shows like GSX is so important.

When attendees arrive, all the exhibits are cleaned up and running as designed. However, getting to that point requires a few days of hard work. Tim Clause from Southwest Microwave chatted with Tom for a few moments during his exhibit setup.

Industry veteran, Ben Gollotti from LARGO Consulting Services, grabbed Tom to catch up for a few moments and give a specifier's perspective.
