If you work in the security industry, you’ve probably felt it already: the emails look different, the logos are changing, and trade show booths aren’t always labeled the way you expect. That kind of change naturally creates questions, and sometimes even a little worry. So, Rick Bennett moderated a discussion with three guest speakers—Steve Pennington, Brad Castillo, and Tom Fontana to address what many people are thinking but might not be saying out loud.
Rick opened the conversation by calling it what it is: the “elephant in the room.” Businesses are bought and sold all the time, especially in today’s economy. And earlier this year, there was an acquisition that affected a familiar name in the industry. But right away, Rick also made something clear that customers care about: MidChes is still here to support you with your video and intrusion needs. The goal of the discussion wasn’t to stir up confusion—it was to reduce it.
How this all started: Bosch sold the Security Systems division
Rick kicked things off by asking Steve Pennington to explain what happened, starting with a company called Triton.
Steve acknowledged up front that he’s been spending a lot of time explaining this to customers lately. And the main point, as he described it, is pretty straightforward:
-
Bosch owned the division previously.
-
That specific division was Bosch Security Systems, LLC.
-
Bosch sold that division to Triton.
-
Triton then formed an umbrella entity to group everything together.
That umbrella brand name, as Steve explained, became Keenfinity Group (he referenced that many people started seeing it around the beginning of July). From the perspective of the group, Steve said they “became Keenfinity” on July 1st, 2025.
One detail Steve emphasized is that the Bosch name doesn’t instantly vanish overnight. There is a window of time where the legacy Bosch branding can still be used across different portfolios. In other words: you may continue seeing Bosch in a lot of places while the new brand structure ramps up.
The big change coming next: three brands under the Keenfinity Group umbrella
Steve then explained something that really helps simplify what’s going on: under Keenfinity, there are three separate product portfolio groups.
-
Audio
-
Intrusion and access control
-
Video
He also pointed out that, for many of our customers, the audio portfolio isn’t something Chesapeake represents day to day. That group has its own representation.
The two areas our most customers ask about—video and intrusion/access—are the ones getting the clearest rebrand paths.
Steve explained that effective January 1st, 2026 the groups will be branded like this:
-
Intrusion + access control (including G Series, B Series panels, access control products, and detectors) will become Radionix, LLC
-
Video will become IQSIGHT, LLC
So if you’re trying to map it simply:
-
Bosch Security Systems → sold to Triton → umbrella brand Keenfinity → portfolios rebrand to Radionix (intrusion/access) and IQSIGHT (video).
Do these business units work together or separately?
Rick asked a practical question: are these groups separate business units, or do they work together?
Steve explained that in the past, the video group and the intrusion/access group worked closely together. Customers could place an order that included multiple portfolios, and it was simpler: one order, one company to pay.
But Steve said that has changed.
As of January 1st, ordering will work more like this:
-
If you want video products, you place the order with IQSIGHT or your current distributor
-
If you want intrusion, access control, or detectors, you place the order with Radionix
-
They are separate for ordering purposes
In other words, even if the solutions still feel connected in the market, the back-end ordering structure becomes more divided than it used to be.
The big reassurance: what changes at MidChes?
After Steve laid out the “who owns what” and “what’s being renamed” side of things, Rick turned to Brad Castillo with the question everyone really wants answered:
“As the manufacturer’s rep of these products, what changes at MidChes with all these name changes and acquisitions?”
Brad’s answer was simple and direct:
“Absolutely nothing.”
Brad explained that MidChes remains intact—and that’s the constant customers can hold onto. Yes, customers will see different manufacturer brand names in emails, marketing materials, and trade show booths. And yes, it’s easy to start asking, “Wait—what is this now? Is that still the same product? Who do I call?”
But Brad emphasized the bottom line:
-
The MidChes group is still the same
-
The resources and help MidChes provides stays the same
-
MidChes is there to help customers navigate the changes happening on the back end
So from a customer point of view, if you’re thinking, “Okay, but who helps me figure this out?”—Brad’s message was: we do.
What happens to the Bosch name on video products?
Then Rick asked Tom Fontana a question that gets asked constantly: with IQSIGHT as the video group name, is anything changing with the product line? Is it still Bosch? Will it be IQSIGHT? And what should customers expect?
Tom’s answer was realistic and easy to understand. He explained that for now, if you’re buying video products, you’ll still see the Bosch name or logo—just like you already are today.
But over time, Tom said, you’ll see a gradual transition:
-
Websites are starting to change
-
Data sheets are starting to change
-
The Bosch name use will likely start getting less and less
-
The IQSIGHT name will get used more and more. Same with Radionix.
-
Eventually, the Bosch name goes away completely
And then Tom hit the practical points customers care about:
-
The portfolio isn’t changing
-
If you buy through distribution, nothing changes about that process
-
Part numbers are not changing at this point
-
And if you have questions, you can still call the same people
So if your main concern is, “Do I need to relearn everything? Are my SKUs changing? Does my entire design standard get thrown out?”—Tom’s message was: not right now.
So what should customers do next?
Rick wrapped up the discussion by bringing it back to the “elephant in the room.” The purpose of the conversation was to make this transition less mysterious and less stressful. The logos may evolve, and the corporate structure may look different, but the practical support network you rely on is still there.
And the closing message was consistent with what was said throughout:
-
MidChes is still MidChes
-
The products and portfolios people know are still recognizable
-
Branding will shift over time (not instantly)
-
Ordering will become more separated by portfolio starting around January 1st, 2026 unless you purchase through distribution.
-
If there’s confusion, the right move is to reach out and ask at support@midches.com
Final takeaway
Here’s the simplest way to think about it:
-
Bosch Security Systems was sold to Triton.
-
Triton organized the group under Keenfinity (effective July 1, 2025).
-
Over time, video becomes IQSIGHT and intrusion/access becomes Radionix.
-
Branding changes will be gradual, and many practical elements (like part numbers) aren’t changing right now.
-
MidChes remains your steady guide through the transition.
And as Rick said at the end: “We’re still here to help you… please don’t hesitate to reach out.”
