These messages can escalate in tone depending on how long the individual remains in a restricted area, or whether the situation is deemed low- or high-risk.

“We have a no-parking zone on top of a speaker. When we detect a vehicle, it says: ‘A vehicle has been detected in a no parking area. Please move the vehicle or you’ll be towed.’”

This isn't just motion detection—it's intelligent classification. When Stevenson placed a small toy mouse in the field of view, the system ignored it. The camera knew it wasn’t a vehicle and took no action. This drastically reduces false alarms and ensures only meaningful events trigger messages.

Automate talk-downs when people enter restricted zones after hours.
Change messages by time of day, such as welcoming messages during business hours and deterrents overnight.
Escalate actions based on duration or behavior (e.g., after two minutes, play a second warning; after five, escalate to live intervention).
Send alarms downstream to central monitoring or onsite personnel.

“It can start with a low-priority message like ‘We’re closed right now, come back tomorrow.’ But if I’m still there at 2 a.m., we can drop the hammer and send that to Alarm Central,” Stevenson said.
