Our team headed to a federal government facility that has hundreds of buildings with legacy analog video systems currently in place to discuss options for implementing new IP-based solutions.

Like many organizations, businesses, and agencies, this complex is methodically moving toward modern IP-based security solutions.

Comnet's [Bruce Miller](https://www.linkedin.com/in/bruce-miller-51900216/) took a few minutes to discuss a few common solutions that could be implemented at the facility to leverage existing wire infrastructure to reduce labor and material costs.

- re-using existing copper wire for new IP devices
- re-using existing fiber optic cabling for new network connections
- considering wireless connectivity for remote buildings or outposts
