What can an iPhone see at night as compared to a Bosch Starlight series camera?

Evaluating and comparing ultra-low-light cameras for security is difficult.  The best way to do this is to arrange a night demonstration on your own or with the assistance of your local manufacturer's representative. In the absence of an in-person demonstration, we came up with the idea of comparing the image seen by an iPhone to the Bosch high definition Starlight series cameras.  Since most everyone owns a smartphone we thought that this would provide a common basis for comparison.

The image below was taken during the day when any camera can (should) make a great image. This is the Bosch Dinion 5 megapixel Starlight fixed camera image.  This snapshot is provided to give you a clear sense of what this scene looks like during the day.  The scene is located at the corner of Route 7 (Philadelphia Road) and Abingdon Road in Abingdon, Maryland.  You can search for 1401 Abingdon Road on your favorite map program. The angle is looking from Abingdon Road toward the east on Route 7. This camera can be accessed live at http://23.31.212.150:10011/live.htm

The image below was captured by an iPhone 5S at 11:15pm with no flash:

This image was captured at the same time, 11:15pm, by the Bosch Dinion 5megapixel Starlight:

The image below was captured by the Bosch AutoDome Starlight, also at 11:15pm.  Also note that the Bosch cameras are still producing color images as well. Notice the lack of moving object blur which would be the case with most other cameras at night. You can access this camera live here.
