Size & Weight of Fiber Optic Cable is a Factor

From shipping costs to storage space, from per foot cost to reliability, there's always a game of cost versus benefits being played out in the structured cable business. Add into the equation the armored cable options and the game gets even more complicated.

Enter TiniFiber.

TiniFiber meets these requirements:

  • Small and lightweight: reduce shipping fees, storage costs, and installation headaches
  • Armored: avoid accidental or intentional cuts of the cable

Termination:

TiniFiber is composed of the same Corning glass as Corning or any other fiber mfg.(Hitachi, General, etc). The magic is in the size of the armored fiber. You can field terminate it with Corning Unicam connectors and the Corning Unicam tool kit. Most fiber guys have one of these.

You can also fusion splice just like any other corning fiber. The only difference with our fiber is the method of armoring. We use a very strong high flex stainless steel tube to protect the normal industry standard Corning glass.

Break-out:

The 12 and 24 strand are 250u corning fiber, so you can use any break-out kit to buffer it up to 900u for unicam termination. TiniFiber offers a line of field installable connectors. 12 strand and 24 strand break-out kits are available.
