Session 1: Deterring Events Using Electronic Security
Whether your facility is a commercial business, government agency, or public institution – the overall need to protect your staff and visitors is at a record high. This session will introduce the latest electronic security technologies that fully support Active Shooter Hostile Event Preparedness and Response. These security technologies should be considered in your efforts to mitigate and protect against effects of an Active Shooter Hostile Event.
Session 2: The Cardinal Rules of Firearm Safety
There are universal pillars of gun safety that must be followed to safeguard and protect innocent victims against unintentional firearm discharges. In addition, where there are firearms, there are laws from each State that dictate the purchase, possession and transport of firearms as well as the individual’s right of self-protection at home, at work and out in public. Chris will introduce “The Cardinal Rules of Firearm Safety” both in-home and out of the home along with providing the audience with a “Snap-Shot” view of the various gun laws in the region.
Session 3: Active Shooter Response Training
The increasing frequency and lethality of active shooter events in the United States has many people worried about and afraid of the phenomena; studies of previous events show that education and preparation can greatly increase survivability. The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) in 2004, provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, what to expect when police arrive and medical issues, amongst others. The training seeks to arm you with knowledge and skills designed to encourage appropriate actions and help you survive, should you face an active shooter event.
