When an intrusion detection system is designed, the wiring configuration used can vary depending on building size, building use, infrastructure complexity, specifier familiarity with the products, and a wide variety of other considerations. As a result, the team tasked with installing the system may have a different idea of how it's best to be installed. This can lead to a mismatch between the initial wiring diagram and how the system is actually installed in the facility. It can also lead to delayed installation as devices may not be on hand that are required to complete the installation per the engineered design. Then, after installed, troubleshooting can be a monumental task if the wiring diagram doesn't match the actual installation.
