CCTV Solution Saves Money for Contractor in Frederick, Maryland with Wireless Ethernet

A remote trailer at a Maryland construction site required CCTV IP camera coverage; however, they did not have coaxial or Ethernet cable runs to the location where the camera needed to be placed.  What made this project even more challenging was the possibility of running new cable was not an option. The goal of the project was to establish connectivity between the remote camera and the Network Video Recorder. Here's how we solved it...

Comnet EtherNAV (Ethernet over Wireless Transmission) kits and a Comnet Network Switch provided to send the Ethernet signal from camera over a mile of wireless transmission to the head-end location. 

How does the construction contractor's benefit?

A signal from the camera to the video management system was obtained by using wireless communication.  Thus, pulling, burying, and running new wire was not necessary and kept the overallproject cost in check.

This not only saved the project money on cable cost, but also on the labor hours and obstacles that would’ve occurred if cable needed to be run.
