At this year's ISC West conference, AMG Systems introduced an impressive lineup of new networking solutions designed to address the evolving challenges faced by integrators and end-users. Tom Fontana talked with Tom Exley from AMG Systems to learn more about these new offerings, including a modular media converter system, an upgraded line of managed switches, and a flexible, high-density blade chassis solution for your network headend.
Smart, Flexible Media Converters: The New AMG260 Series
Leading the discussion was AMG’s new AMG260 Series of industrial media converters. "These are industrial media converters supporting all kinds of PoE, from 30 watts up to 90 watts," Exley explained. Notably, these converters can also be powered by PoE, offering flexible deployment options.
Importantly, AMG’s system doesn't just reboot the connected device—it also resets the media converter itself for a full system refresh, a capability few competitors offer.
The AMG260 converters also feature dual fiber uplink redundancy, enabling automatic switching between fiber ports if a link fails. “That redundancy is mission critical for environments like nuclear facilities, airports, corrections, or ITS applications,” noted Fontana.
Maximizing Rack Efficiency: The New AMG Blade System
"This allows us to reduce your overall footprint and racking requirements," Exley said. "Space is becoming a much more scarce commodity in headend environments."
The AMG Blade features available dual redundant power supplies for enhanced resilience, and the modular card design means customers can scale up over time by simply adding more modules as needed. "We’re launching with a couple of card types now, and more will be added as the product line evolves," Exley added.
Expanding Switching Capabilities: AMG570 Series Now with More Ports
"This allows for a lot more devices to be connected in critical environments," Exley explained, making the new switches ideal for larger or growing deployments.
Ready to Deploy — And Covered for Life
Perhaps best of all, all of these new AMG Systems products are available immediately. “You can order these now, and they’re shipping as of April 2025,” confirmed Exley.
As with AMG’s other industrial offerings, the AMG260 Series, the AMG Blade System, and the expanded AMG570 Switches all come with a lifetime warranty. "The same with all of these new devices that I've been showing you," said Exley. "They're all part of our industrial range."
