New Capabilities: Ethernet over COAX and UTP for Data Transmission

Matt Golueke March 26, 2015 19:19 PM

End users and integrators have come up with very creative ways to leverage existing infrastructure for IP cameras and overall Ethernet data transmission. One of the challenges that is beyond control is the continually increasing power demand of new IP cameras and other IP devices.

For instance, today, camera manufacturers are offering PTZ cameras with PoE capability. The power demandof these types of cameras is higher than the standard small dome camera. As a result, manufacturers of data tarnsmission equipment are reacting by releasing more robust devices to enable these features without having to deploy power supplies near the cameras.

Comnet is a leading manufacturer meeting these demands.

Recent improvements include:

  • More Size Options
  • Now with 30 Watt, PoE+ capability
  • Capability of up to 56VDC locally
  • Transmit 100Mbps and 25W over 1000'

Watch this short video as Guy Walker from Comnet provides the details of the new capabilities:
