Benchmark Magazine is at it again. This time testing video analytics. Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA) is gaining popularity as end users add more cameras to their systems, and as other departments such as human resources and marketing become interested in the metadata that cameras are capturing. 

Capabilities such as birds-eye-view allow for the counting of people in an area as well as for the generation of 'heat maps' that marketing teams can use to manage retail traffic flow.
